**Arrival in Leh**
Arrive at Leh Airport and meet the representative before transferring to your selected hotel. Your first impression of Ladakh begins almost immediately, with dramatic mountain landscapes surrounding the high-altitude town. The arrival day is deliberately kept light because acclimatization is an important part of travelling in Ladakh. Instead of filling the day with extensive sightseeing, the itinerary gives you time to settle in and become comfortable with the altitude.

**Acclimatization & Leisure**
The main activity today is simply to rest and acclimatize. Take things slowly, stay hydrated and avoid strenuous exertion. The high-altitude environment makes the first day very different from a conventional holiday arrival, and allowing sufficient time to adjust helps make the remaining journey more comfortable.

**Leh Bazaar**
If your health and energy permit later in the day, you may take a gentle visit to Leh Bazaar. The bazaar offers an easy introduction to the local atmosphere of Leh, with its streets and shops providing a first glimpse of the town.

**Shanti Stupa**
Subject to your health and available time, continue to Shanti Stupa. The elevated location provides an opportunity to appreciate the surrounding mountain landscape and gives you your first broad visual introduction to the geography around Leh.

**Leh Palace**
You may also explore Leh Palace if time and health permit. The historic palace adds a heritage dimension to the first evening, while the surrounding elevated setting offers views across Leh and its mountainous surroundings.

**Scenic Excursion into Sham Valley**
Begin your first full sightseeing day in Ladakh with an excursion towards Sham Valley. The drive introduces you to the dramatic combination of barren mountains, broad valleys and clear Himalayan skies that characterizes this part of Ladakh. After yesterday's acclimatization, today's relatively short excursion provides a comfortable way to begin experiencing the region.

**Hall of Fame**
Begin your excursion with a visit to the Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the Indian Armed Forces. Explore the exhibits and displays that provide insights into the region's military history and the challenging environment in which the armed forces operate.

**Gurudwara Pathar Sahib**
Continue to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a peaceful religious site located amid the mountain landscape. The stop offers a quieter and more spiritual experience during the day's journey, while the surrounding scenery reinforces the distinctive character of Ladakh's valleys and mountain roads.

**Magnetic Hill**

**Indus–Zanskar Confluence**

**Return to Leh**
After completing the Sham Valley excursion, drive back to Leh and return to the hotel. The evening is kept relaxed so that you can rest after the day's sightseeing

**Leh to Nubra Valley**
After breakfast, check out and begin the journey towards Nubra Valley. The route takes you deeper into the high-altitude landscapes of Ladakh, with the road gradually climbing towards one of the most famous mountain passes in the region.

**Khardung La Pass**
Cross the famous Khardung La Pass, one of the defining high-altitude experiences included in this itinerary. The pass offers spectacular mountain views and a sense of the scale of Ladakh's high mountain terrain.

**Diskit Monastery & Maitreya Buddha Statue**

**Journey via Changla Pass**
Begin the return journey towards Leh via Changla Pass, another significant high-altitude mountain pass on the route. The drive offers another perspective of Ladakh's dramatic terrain, with mountain roads and expansive landscapes forming the backdrop throughout the journey.

**Rancho School, 3 Idiots School**
