Cochin to Munnar – A Scenic Journey into the Hills
Arrive at Cochin Airport / Railway Station, where you will meet your driver and begin your private journey towards Munnar. If arriving at Cochin, the journey gradually leaves the coastal surroundings behind and moves towards Kerala’s greener highlands. As the road climbs through the Western Ghats, the landscape changes into a beautiful combination of lush greenery, waterfalls, winding mountain roads and tea-growing regions.

**Scenic Drive from Cochin to Munnar**
Begin your Kerala holiday with a scenic drive towards Munnar, one of the state's best-known hill destinations. The journey itself becomes part of the experience as the surroundings gradually transform from the lower landscapes of Kerala into greener and more elevated terrain. The Western Ghats provide a striking backdrop along the route, with winding roads, dense greenery and changing mountain views creating a relaxed introduction to the hill country.
**Cheeyappara Waterfalls Photo Stop**
En route to Munnar, pause at Cheeyappara Waterfalls, a scenic multi-level waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. Depending on the season, the waterfall may offer a particularly attractive natural setting for photographs and a short break during the journey. The flow of the waterfall is seasonal and can vary according to rainfall and local conditions, so the experience may differ from one visit to another.
**Arrival & Leisure in Munnar**
Continue onwards to Munnar, a destination known for its rolling tea plantations, misty mountain scenery and pleasant hill climate. Optional boating facilities may be available here, but boating charges are not included in the package and are payable separately.

**Kundala Lake**
Proceed towards Kundala Lake, a peaceful high-altitude lake surrounded by green hills. The calm setting makes it one of the scenic stops on the Munnar sightseeing route. Optional boating facilities may be available, subject to local operation, and any boating charges are payable separately by guests.
**Munnar Tea Plantations**
Spend time exploring the beautiful tea plantations of Munnar, one of the landscapes most closely associated with the destination. After breakfast, check out from your Munnar hotel and proceed towards Thekkady. On arrival in Thekkady, check in to your hotel and later visit a spice plantation.

The route provides a gradual transition from Munnar’s tea-growing environment towards Thekkady’s spice-rich surroundings.
**Thekkady Arrival & Hotel Check-in**
On reaching Thekkady, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax. Thekkady provides a different atmosphere from Munnar, with its association with forests, plantations and the Periyar region. The remainder of the afternoon can be used to unwind before heading out for the next experience.
**Spice Plantation Visit**
Later, visit a Spice Plantation, where you can learn more about Kerala’s famous spices and the plantation traditions associated with the region. Cardamom, pepper, cinnamon and cloves are among the spices associated with the experience. **Traditional Kerala Houseboat Experience**
On arrival in Alleppey, board your traditional Kerala Houseboat and begin your backwater journey. The houseboat experience offers a slower and more peaceful way to experience Kerala, allowing you to travel through waterways while surrounded by coconut palms, paddy fields, small villages and traditional homes. Rather than simply being a transfer, the cruise becomes one of the central experiences of the itinerary.

After completing your houseboat experience, leave Alleppey and travel towards Cochin. The relatively short drive provides a comfortable transition from the peaceful backwaters to the historic and cultural surroundings of Kerala’s major coastal city.
**Chinese Fishing Nets**
Begin your Cochin sightseeing with the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets, one of Fort Kochi’s most recognisable landmarks. These traditional fishing structures form an important part of the visual character of the waterfront and provide an introduction to the historic maritime atmosphere of the area.
**St. Francis Church**
Continue to St. Francis Church, located in the historic Fort Kochi area.
