Leh Arrival & Acclimatization

If your health and time permit in the evening, step out for a gentle exploration of Leh Bazaar. Wander through the lively local market, browse traditional handicrafts and souvenirs, and get your first glimpse of the local atmosphere.
Continue to Shanti Stupa, a prominent landmark of Leh offering beautiful views over the town and surrounding mountains. The peaceful surroundings make it a pleasant place for an evening visit, subject to your comfort and acclimatization.
Later, visit Leh Palace if time and health permit. The historic palace provides an introduction to the heritage of Leh and offers impressive views over the town and surrounding landscape.
Leh to Sham Valley to Monasteries, Magnetic Hill & River Confluence
Begin the day's sightseeing with a visit to Hall of Fame, a prominent attraction showcasing the history and contributions of the Indian Armed Forces in Ladakh. Explore the exhibits and take some time to understand the region's military heritage.
Continue to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a revered Sikh shrine located amid the mountains. Spend some peaceful time at the gurudwara and appreciate its serene setting before proceeding further into the valley.

Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La, Into the Nubra Valley
Leave Leh behind and begin the scenic drive towards Nubra Valley. The road gradually climbs through rugged mountain terrain, offering spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan landscape.
Cross the famous Khardung La Pass, one of the iconic high altitude passes associated with Ladakh. Pause along the route, subject to weather and road conditions, to appreciate the dramatic mountain scenery and capture memorable photographs.
On arrival in Nubra Valley, visit Diskit Monastery, one of the oldest and largest monasteries in the valley. Explore the monastery and admire the impressive Maitreya Buddha Statue overlooking the surrounding landscape.

Begin the drive towards Leh via Changla Pass, one of the high altitude mountain passes on the route. Enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery while travelling through this dramatic section of the journey, subject to road and weather conditions.
En route, visit Rancho School, also known as the 3 Idiots School, subject to accessibility and local conditions. The location is associated with the popular Bollywood movie and is a well known stop for visitors travelling through the region.
Continue to Thiksey Monastery, one of the region's notable monastic complexes. Admire its impressive architecture, hillside setting and spiritual atmosphere while exploring the monastery.
