Guwahati – Shillong | Gateway to the Hills
Begin your Meghalaya and Assam journey with your arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. Meet your representative and driver before beginning the private journey towards Shillong. Once you are comfortably settled in the vehicle, leave the plains of Guwahati behind and begin ascending towards the scenic hill landscapes of Meghalaya.
The approximately 100-kilometre journey towards Shillong takes around three hours, depending on traffic, road conditions and local circumstances. The drive itself becomes an introduction to Meghalaya as the landscape gradually changes from the urban environment of Guwahati to greener surroundings and rolling hill scenery.
En route, stop at Umiam Lake, also known as Barapani. The picturesque reservoir is surrounded by green hills and scenic landscapes and provides one of the most beautiful early views of Meghalaya. Spend some time appreciating the peaceful setting and the expansive waters of the lake.
Guests interested in additional activities may enjoy optional water sports at Umiam Lake. These activities are available at an additional cost and remain subject to availability and local operating conditions.

After breakfast, begin your full-day excursion towards Mawlynnong. Today's route takes you through some of Meghalaya's scenic countryside and provides an opportunity to experience the quieter village landscapes and greenery for which this part of the state is known.
Explore Mawlynnong Village, renowned for its cleanliness, greenery and peaceful surroundings. Spend time experiencing the village environment and appreciating the natural character of the destination. The visit provides a different perspective on Meghalaya compared with the waterfalls and caves experienced on the previous day.
Take some time to appreciate the peaceful landscape around Mawlynnong. The village experience is centred around its clean surroundings, greenery and relaxed atmosphere, allowing travellers to slow down and experience a quieter side of Meghalaya.
Continue towards Dawki, located close to the India-Bangladesh border. The journey itself passes through scenic landscapes and gradually brings you towards one of Meghalaya's most distinctive river environments.

After breakfast, complete your hotel check-out formalities and prepare for the journey towards Guwahati. Today's drive marks the transition from the hills of Meghalaya back towards the plains of Assam.
Begin the approximately 100-kilometre journey towards Guwahati, which takes around three hours depending on traffic, road conditions and local circumstances. Enjoy the changing landscapes as the journey gradually moves away from Shillong's hill environment and towards Guwahati.
Later, guests may choose to enjoy an optional Brahmaputra River Cruise. The cruise offers views of the river and surrounding landscapes and provides a relaxed way to experience one of Assam's defining geographical features. The cruise is not included in the package and charges are payable directly by guests.
Guwahati Local Sightseeing – Departure | Temples & Farewell
Begin your final morning with breakfast at the hotel before completing the check-out formalities according to the hotel's policy. Keep your belongings ready for departure and coordinate with your driver according to the confirmed departure schedule.
Begin the day's sightseeing with a visit to Balaji Temple. The temple provides a peaceful introduction to Guwahati's religious landscape before continuing to the city's cultural and spiritual landmarks.
