How to Reach Ladakh
Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (IXL) receives direct flights daily from Delhi, Mumbai, and Srinagar. Note: Take full rest on Day 1 for acclimatization.
No railhead in Ladakh. Jammu Tawi or Chandigarh are the nearest railheads.
Two iconic road routes: Srinagar-Kargil-Leh highway (open May to Nov) and Manali-Atal Tunnel-Sarchu-Leh highway (open June to Oct).
- Mandatory 24-48 hours rest on arrival in Leh to avoid Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous activities on Day 1.
- Inner Line Permits (ILP) are required for Pangong, Nubra, and Hanle; all permits are arranged smoothly by TripZolo.
- Carry cash in Indian Rupees (INR) as ATMs outside Leh town are scarce and power outages can occur.
